I have been interested in Politics since I was about 13, since about the age of 20 I have really thought about my opinions. I describe my politics as staunchly New Labour and still proudly Blairite. When I joined the Labour Party a few years ago I was pro David Miliband over his brother Ed, and believe that had we elected him as Leader then Labour would be in Government right now instead of David Cameron's Tories. Unless you live under a rock you probably know by now that Jeremy Corbyn is now the Labour leader after a remarkable result in yesterday's leadership election. I opted for Andy Burnham for several reasons but most importantly I believed he was the best candidate to win in 2020. Jeremy Corbyn is now Leader and I am not happy at all.
I believe his views are not the sort of views that should be in the Labour Party. His support for unsavoury characters is reminiscent of his pal George Galloway and some of his policies and policy views are quite wrong. His stance on tax is one of the ones I most disagree with. When asked on his view of the top tax rate he said he didn't believe that 75% was too high. Well let me tell you Jeremy that it is and it's disgracefully high. Look at what has happened with that rate in France. His foreign policy views are very worrying too. He has talked about possibly leaving Nato and is lukewarm to the EU. He thinks we can talk to the likes of ISIS and can't think of a situation in which he would deploy our troops. This is not a safe view to have in such a dangerous world that we have right now.
When the result was announced I had a momentary lapse of reason. (I'm a Pink Floyd fan) I considering my options. I would never join another Party but I considering whether I should leave Labour as a Member but then I came back into reality. I started a twitter profile to discuss my views and sound out others views on Corbyn and which direction we should go in. Jeremy Corbyn may now be the Labour leader but I will do everything I can to bring the party back to reality. I have gained 18 followers since the result and I can see it growing with more and more exposure to Corbyn's views. I hate this Tory government. I believe we should have a Government for all. Both the Tories and Jeremy Corbyn are concentrating on one particular section of the country and they're diametrically opposed. I have received some disgraceful comments from Corbyn supporters and have even seen people be called peadophiles because they disagree with the way that Labour show position themselves. Corbyn may have won the Labour Leadership by a long way but it is far from over. We can still win in 2020 but not with Jeremy Corbyn.
